Project description:
In the grounds of Savill Gardens at the Royal Estate in Egham, Surrey, we prefabricated and assembled off-site the complete 11m x 3m double curving oak gridshell canopy and steel support structure for the entrance to the gardens. The canopy was craned in and onto the double curving CHS supporting steel frame which was integrally designed and used off-site to aid the final installation process. The structure was made water-tight with a single ply membrane and over-clad with curving oak weatherboards.
